Our company was established in December 2006 by Dai-ichi Life Insurance (at the time, Dai-ichi Mutual Life Insurance). Our business model, unlike that of traditional life insurance companies, focuses solely on savings-oriented insurance products, such as individual annuities, which we sell through banks, securities companies, and other financial institutions. This highly specialized and concentrated business domain and marketing channel distinguishes Dai-ichi Frontier Life from other insurance companies.

By virtue of the understanding and support of our customers and sales agents, our sales performance has grown steadily since when we started sales. As a result, we are now an industry leader in sales of products including individual variable annuities and foreign-currency denominated individual fixed annuities, our core insurance offerings. That success, of course, could not have been possible without your support, for which I would again like to express my deepest thanks and gratitude.

Amid an aging society combined with a declining birthrate, individuals' ability to be more self-reliant and financially independent later in life is becoming increasingly important. In this environment, we expect the market for savings-oriented insurance products sold through financial institutions to see considerable growth, as the products support customer asset management and self-reliance. All of us here at Dai-ichi Frontier Life will strive to uphold the "frontier spirit" implied in our company name by carefully listening to our customers and continuing to deliver new and innovative products and services that meet the expectations of society and our customers. In addition, we aim to be a life insurance company that encourages everyone to grow together and contributes to the creation of a prosperous society and the expansion of the economy.
